Grease and dirt on the Bendix drive prevents
it from beeing thrown into the fly wheel ring gear. |

The starting motor for the MB/GPW and
CJ2A jeeps are hard to find items today. However it is possible to
restore them if they arenīt too damaged. The armature must be machined in a lathe and new brushes must be installed.

The CJ3A starting motor is of a different type.
Instead of beeing thrown into flywheel ring gear (the MB/GPW and CJ2A)
it is mecanically forced into the gear. This is good for the starting
motor and the ring gear. |
