The T90 transmission

When the war was over and the production of the CJ-jeeps started some components were changed. Instead of the week T84 gearbox the sturdier T90 gearbox was installed. This gearbox was around 2 inches longer so the the center crossmember and the rear propeller shaft had to be changed too.

All the cleaned and checked parts in the T90 transmission

In the T84 gearbox two brass bushings were used for the countershaft gear cluster. In the T90 gearbox 88 bearing needles are used. The 88 needles are almost impossible to install without a dummy axle shaft of exactly the same length as the gear cluster.

The 88 needles and the 14 a little bigger needles between the main shaft and the output shaft.

The cleaned and checked houses for a complete T 84 transmission

All parts (I hope) in a T 84 transmission. I have changed all worn out parts and painted the houses olive drab.

The complete T 84 transmission ready to be installed.
